1August 30th, 2014 - Derek entered single event over the weekend as the team traveled to Lincoln Park Speedway (Putnamville, Indiana) on Saturday night for a Weekly Racing Series program.

Groomer piloted his #d48 Gentle Dentist/Groomer Asphalt Paving/Burton Masonry/Elite Hair Design Open Wheel Modified to a second place finish in heat race action, earning him the tenth starting spot on the feature grid. During the course of the main event, Groomer battled around the top ten for much of the event before ultimately crossing the finish line in tenth.

1August 16th, 2014 - The Derek Groomer Racing team was back at Bloomington Speedway (Bloomington, Indiana) on Friday night for a UMP Weekly Racing Series program.

Seventeen entries were registered for battle, and Derek started his outing by finishing second behind Brad Barrow in the second heat race. As a result he would start on the pole of the feature with Roy Bruce Jr. alongside.

In the main event Groomer took control at the drop of the green flag and never looked back, crossing the finish line first ahead of Bruce Jr., Brad Barrow, Chad Combs, and Jason Clark.

With a stout field of twenty-eight competitors in the pits, an eighth to third run in his heat race positioned Derek starting seventh on the feature grid.

Throughout the course of the main event, Groomer advanced four spots to finish third behind race winner, Rick Gumm and Ryan Thomas. Jeff Deckard and Jared Bailey completed the remainder of the top five.

1August 9th, 2014 - Derek Groomer enjoyed a strong outing over the weekend in his #d48 Gentle Dentist/Groomer Asphalt Paving/Burton Masonry/Elite Hair Design Open Wheel Modified in the 32nd Annual Sunoco North/South 100 at Florence Speedway (Union, Kentucky).

The $2,000-to-win, special event drew a stout field of forty-three entries to the 1/2 mile oval, and Groomer started his weekend by finishing second in his heat race to earn the pole position for the finale on Saturday evening, with Brandon Green alongside. In the main event Derek raced to a solid third place finish behind race winner, Brandon Green, and Josh Rice.

1August 2nd, 2014 - Derek Groomer returned to action on Saturday night with a Weekly Racing Series Open Wheel Modified program at Lincoln Park Speedway (Putnamville, Indiana).

Twenty competitors entered the event, and after winning his heat race from the fifth starting spot Groomer locked into the fourth starting position for the feature. Derek outdueled Kenny Carmichael Jr. in the main event for his fifth triumph of the season aboard his #d48 Gentle Dentist/Groomer Asphalt Paving/Burton Masonry/Elite Hair Design Open Wheel Modified.
