When the feature went green, Groomer lost a few spots early on before regaining his composure and beginning his march to the front. By lap seven he had advanced to seventh, and just two circuits later was knocking on the door of the top five. As the lap begin to wind down Derek had made his way to third with five to go. One lap later he drove by Matt Hamilton for second and begun to chase down race long leader Dan Ebert. Groomer would make the pass on Ebert as the pair came to the white flag and lead the final lap for his second victory of the season. Ebert finished second followed by Hamilton in third, while Josh Rice and Bill Vaughan rounded out the top five finishers.
