July 29th, 2017 - Aboard the Groomer Asphalt Paving #D48 entry, Derek Groomer visited Lincoln Park Speedway (Putnamville, Indiana) on Saturday night competing in a field of 24 cars. Moving up two spots in his heat race, Derek landed a runner-up finish behind Josh Boller positioning him 6th on the starting grid for the feature. Wheeling his way into a podium spot, Groomer scored a 3rd place finish behind Richie Lex and Josh McDaniel with Kenny Carmichael Sr. and Kenny Carmichael Jr. completing the Top 5 finishers.

July 22nd, 2017 - Derek Groomer returned to Lincoln Park Speedway (Putnamville, Indiana) on Saturday for the regular night of racing. In a field of 27 Open Wheel Modifieds, Groomer secured his spot into the feature with a 2nd place finish in his heat race behind Jacoby Hines. Starting in 8th, Derek improved four positions to place 4th behind Kenny Wallace, Josh Boller, and Jacoby Hines with RJ Pruitt coming in 5th.

July 15th, 2017 - On Saturday night Derek Groomer made the trip to Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Indiana) competing in a field of 25 Print Worx Open Wheel Modifieds. Starting the night off with a heat race win, Derek secured his spot into the A-Main. With $600 on the line, Groomer dropped back to a 19th place outing.

July 8th, 2017 - Powering the Jerry Burton Masonry #D48 Open Wheel Modified, Derek Groomer visited Lincoln Park Speedway (Putnamville, Indiana) on Saturday night competing in a field of 21 Open Wheel Modifieds. Holding his spot in his heat race, Groomer landed a runner-up finish behind Jay Humphrey Jr. locking him into the 6th-starting position for the feature. July 1st, 2017 - Derek Groomer returned to action on Saturday after Friday’s night Fourth of July special was rained out at Lincoln Park Speedway (Putnamville, Indiana) due to wet conditions. With a stout field of 54 Open Wheel Modifieds on hand for the Merrill Downey Memorial, Groomer secured his spot into the $4,444-to-win A-Main with a 2nd place finish in his heat race. Rolling off 9th for the feature, Derek charged through the field seven spots in the 44-lapper to place 2nd behind Lucas Lee with Brad Weick, Joey Kramer, and Matt Hamilton rounding out the Top 5.
