Kicking off the Memorial Day Weekend, Derek Groomer visited Bloomington Speedway (Bloomington, Indiana) on Friday night for the annual Josh Burton Memorial. With 25 cars registered in for action, Derek lost four spots in his heat race logging a 6th place finish. Transferring into the B-Main for another shot at the feature, Groomer landed a 3rd place finish locking him into the 18th-starting spot for the A-Main. Breaking into the Top 10, Derek Groomer advanced through the field 11 positions notching a 7th place finish.

Saturday night brought Groomer to Lincoln Park Speedway (Putnam, Indiana) to a field of 34 UMP Modifieds. Jumping up one spot in his heat race, Derek scored a 2nd place finish behind Travis Shoulders locking him into the feature. Passing four cars, Derek Groomer reeled in a runner-up spot behind Cole Parker with Kenny Carmichael, Tim Prince, and Kenny Carmichael Jr. rounding out the Top 5.

On Friday night Derek Groomed made the short trip to Bloomington Speedway (Bloomington, Indiana) to a field of 24 Open Wheel Modifieds. Running into trouble before he was even able to get his night started, Groomer suffed motor problems before his heat race preventing the Bloomington, Indiana pilot from competing.
