Derek Groomer
Groomer back in victory lane at Paragon Speedway
Derek Groomer got an early start to his race week with a visit to Circle City Raceway (Indianapolis, Ind.) on Monday afternoon to compete in the Modified portion of the Indiana Sprint Week.
After picking up a heat race win over Jordan Weaver, Groomer muscled forward three spots in the 25-lap affair to register a second-place finish. He followed Jordan Weaver across the line with Todd Sherman rounding out the podium.
Back in action on Thursday, Groomer visited Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Ind.) where he started the night off with a heat race victory but Mother Nature rained out the event before the start of the feature.
With the feature being postponed to Saturday, Derek forfeited his third-starting position as he decided to compete Paragon Speedway (Paragon, Ind.) aboard his Millikan Smiles No. D48 Modified. Pulling off a clean sweep of the program, Groomer followed up the fastest qualifying lap with a heat win and flag-to-flag victory in the feature. He recorded his 11th win of the season ahead of Matthew Cooley, Jerry Davis, Jake Leitzman, and Richie Lex.
