Groomer parks Super Stock in Jackson 100 victory lane at Brownstown
Taking part in the annual Jackson 100 weekend, Derek Groomer made the short trip to Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Ind.) on Friday to compete in the Pro Late Model portion of the Bowman Family 50.
With 31 Pro Late Models entered, Groomer locked his spot into the $1,000-to-win A-Main with a second-place finish in his heat. Rolling off eighth, Derek gained three spots to register a fifth-place finish, which came behind Tyler Cain, Tyler Neal, Marty O’Neal, and Jug Wethington.
In the Sasser Construction Super Stock on Saturday for the Jackson 100 finale, Derek followed up the second-fastest qualifying lap with a heat race win. After wresting away the lead from JT Huffman on the fifth circuit of the feature, Groomer repelled a charging Brenden Carr to capture his 11th win of the season and a $1,000 payday.
