Derek Groomer runner-up at Bloomington Speedway over Memorial Day weekend
Derek Groomer kicked off his Memorial Day weekend very early with a visit to Circle City Raceway (Indianapolis, Ind.) on Wednesday night.
Among 22 Crate Late Models, Groomer made up two spots in his heat race to finish second which placed him on the third-row for the 25-lap feature. Running inside the Top-5, Derek pulled off on lap 14 with a mechanical issue.
Pulling out his No. D48 Modified at Blooming (Ind.) Speedway on Friday, Derek was victorious in his heat race and made up two positions in the 30-lap main event to finish runner-up. He trailed race-winner Jacoby Hines while Brayden Watson completed the Top-5.
Wrapping up the holiday weekend at Lincoln Park Speedway (Putnamville, Ind.) on Saturday evening, Groomer gained four spots in the feature to finish inside the Top-10 in seventh.
