Derek Groomer steps up for North/South 100 at Florence Speedway
Jumping into the deep end after one Super Late Model start in 2024, Derek Groomer made his way to Florence Speedway (Walton, Ky.) on Thursday afternoon for the North/South 100 with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
Posting finishes of 15th and 19th in preliminary features on Thursday and Friday, Groomer finished fifth in his heat race on Saturday and attempted to transfer out of his B-Main but came up a few spots short of the $75,000-to-win finale. Derek did compete in the non-qualifiers feature where he would finish runner-up to Dale McDowell.
